Moving Forward
Always looking to grow in size, strength and fully inclusive catering for all. We are bronze CAPS accredited and will be driving forward in the future to obtain Silver.
We are constantly bringing new players on-board across all age groups to strengthen our teams and will keep moving the club forward. Members are expected to attend training regularly and to keep up with the progression of their team to continue with their membership.
History
December 2008 Panthers Elite was first formed as a work team by Carla White and was originally know as BA Homes. After playing for a few teams Carla believed she could form club that would continually progress to become bigger and stronger.
September 2009 BA Homes entered their first leagues, with a team in Surrey League and a team in Charters Triple SSS league they made their debut. By the end of the season the girls that worked for Better At Home Care Agency had left the club, the remaining members had a vote on a new name and Surrey Panthers was formed.
September 2010 Surrey Panthers made their debut in Surrey League and Kingston District League. After a season struggling for players for Kingston District League the club saw a big rise in the number of players joining over the summer.
September 2011 the club entered a 3rd team into Wavell Invitation League and split the Surrey and Kingston League into two very separate squads creating three separate teams
September 2012 the club were fielding 5 teams. 3 in Surrey League and 2 in Wavell Invitation League. .
January 2013 Surrey Panthers had their first youth training session with around 12 girls. Numbers quickly grew and by June 2013 3 teams had formed making an U13, U12 and U11 squad.
May 2013 due to the youth sections success, Surrey Panthers added to the section by dropping the age to 7 years old and having a separate session for years 2 to 4.
September 2014 the club had grown in strength and numbers offering a team in each age category from U10 to U15, even fielding a B team in some of the age categories. The adult section of the club was handed over to the adults allowing Carla to focus solely on the youths. Later in the year the adult section decided to cut away from the club and moved on to become Surrey Jets in 2015.
September 2015 the first ever trial system was brought in for the youths, each youth had to trial for their place at the club and the strength of the club grew dramatically. The club also introduced a new behaviour policy and club ethos and all new youths would now have to trial for their membership into the club. The oldest youths moved over to adult netball and adapted very quickly to the challenge.
September 2017, Surrey Panthers withdrew all their teams from the Surrey Leagues, because of this a name change was decided on and the club was to become Panthers Elite. A new section of the club was decided and the club had their first ever Farnham training session in October of that year, the section is now even bigger than our Hawley section and just as strong.
September 2018 we had our first Woking section session at Halested School. With 25 girls in attendance it was a great start to the club. The girls have joined the other sections in the Elite League on a Wednesday evening and Saturday afternoon. We also had our first training session for our new adult section with members ages from 16 - 45 years old. We will be pushing this section on the reach county and regional netball over the next few seasons.
November 2018 we will have our first ever Panthers Elite Academy netball training for the strongest members in year 6, 7 and 8 across all 3 sections will have a two hour training session once a month on a Friday evening to help with the selection of our Regional squads and nominees for Regional Satellite Academy. We will hope to develop a second once a month Friday date for our year 9, 10 and 11 girls in the near future.
2018 to 2021 The continuation of building strong, professional teams able to participate in competitive leagues, fielding both local league, County and South Regional squads. Having over 100+ junior members training and playing at any one time. Accepting many changes and challenges throughout along with obtaining our Bronze CAPS accreditation during this period was a tremendous combined effort by every single member of Panthers Elite Netball Club.
2022 to present The Panther story and family continues – Headed up by a strong Committee team, qualified coaches and our fabulous army of parent volunteers/helpers we are working hard to secure our future by focusing on our home grown talent (investing in training, coaching, umpiring opportunities for our members) growing our youth teams to secure progression through the age groups and to compete at the highest level each player can.
